Deer Hunt ‘08

Just got back from the deer hunt & had lots of fun! This year we had a bigger group than usual, 8 people & 6 permits. We started the hunt early Saturday morning and came across 3 bucks in the first hour. My uncle Ed picked the biggest one (a 4 point) and took it. We passed up on the other 2 because things were looking good & they were not exactly trophy size.

The rest of Saturday went by & we didn’t see much. Sunday we went down to a canyon on BLM land & decided to give it a walk. I took off hiking up one side of the canyon and we had some lookouts on a ridge up above. They radio’d in a big buck about 100 yards up hill from me so I started climbing on up. Read more…
